Introduction

I collect antique (100 year old +) & vintage (50 year old +) children's literature, mostly for the gorgeous illustrations contained therein. I started collecting in college, so books in "acceptable" condition that were under $20 bucks shipping inclusive were fine with me. After handling lots of very poor condition books, I've refined my buying choices to books that: (1) contain at least 6 full-color plates (2) have minimal to no sun damage ("sunning") or (3) water-damage ("damp-wear"). Other than that, I'll take a book that's falling apart at the seams if it's beautiful to me. And I've decided to make my finds available online to curious googlers, partly so others can share in the passion & partly so I have an excuse to lovingly go through & appreciate my own collection. Books are beautiful.
